Welcome in the State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve Moscow Kremlin at 24.04.2015 at the exhibition "Knightly Orders of Europe"
For visitors the exhibition will be open from 24.04.2015 – 30.08.2015.
The exhibition features signs of knightly orders of the Russian emperors from the funds of the Moscow Kremlin, knightly Orders of the European collection of the famous collector Andrei Khazin, and the unique signs of Orders of the Garter of Emperor Alexander II from the Royal Collection of Great Britain granted by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In addition, at the exhibition can see rare documents from the Foreign Policy Archive of the Russian Empire the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the portraits of members of the Russian Imperial House of the State Historical Museum.
Collection of Andrei Khazin, which grew up from the children's hobbies eventually it turned into a thoughtful and complete collection of medals of European countries. It includes signs of the highest orders of the European states, which largely make up for the gaps in museum collections. Of the Special fullness and value are marked sections collections representing the Order of the UK, Austria – Hungary, Prussia, Portugal, Vatican and France of the time of Napoleon Bonaparte. The collection gives the opportunity to get acquainted with the Order's signs of the Russian rulers and our famous compatriots.
In preparation for the exhibition was made a sensational discovery. It turned out that the collection of Andrei Khazin has awards of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II – Royal Victorian Chain, founded in 1902 by King Edward VII for awarding foreign monarchs, princes and heads of state. This award was once sold by the Bolsheviks after the transfer of the Armoury Chamber where it was a part of the evacuated values from Petrograd palace , in The state depository of values, and after almost a hundred years, wonderfully in the framework of the exhibition project back to the wall of the Moscow Kremlin.
