The unique combination of elements of regular and landscape Park, blooming parterres, restored historical inventories, white – pink gazebo create a sense of calm and tranquility amidst the bustling multi – million city.
Wide open space of ground, continuing the Central axis of the estate, starting from the main gate of the front yard, is similar to a garden party and, simultaneously, allows to emphasize the monumental character of the Northern facade of the Palace, to reveal a view of the Palace from the depths of the garden. The edges of the stalls are three pairs of symmetrical flower beds, and he framed covered alleys bersoes correct form, being thus an important part of the regular garden. Covered alley, restored a few years ago, consists of 2 rows of lime trees, the crowns of which are based on a special semi – circular arches, and on the outer side of the cut.
Old sprawling larch in the Eastern part of the pit, as her age at the Northern porch of the Egyptian pavilion, the original concept of the garden was not the first time they recorded on the plan, 1824. Interestingly, the same larch is located on the ground floor Kuskovsky garden – perhaps larch had some special significance for owners of both estates – Nikolai Petrovich Sheremetev or his son Dmitry. Statues – the bag which now adorn the stalls appeared in Ostankino only in the mid – 19 – th century, although made much earlier – in the second half of the 18-th century. Originally in the garden were only marble vases and sculptures decorating the house – the temple. Wonderful sculptural group "the Three graces", the Italian job the second half of the 18th century, now adorn the Northern part of the stalls, "Inventory" 1802 is standing in the Rotunda.
The landscape area is located on the right and left of the regular part of the Park and includes a young grove of cedar trees, restored in 2003, and the system landscape areas restricted garden paths. North of cedar grove was situated fruit garden, or "curtain, meadow him Apple". Because currently it is occupied by large trees planted in the 19th century, restored in the form of planting Apple trees only the border of the fruit garden. To the Northern boundary of the Pleasure garden on the West bordered birch grove with intricate curved track, which is a newly planted in 2003. The regular part is 2 located on the sides of the Central axis of the estate of the rectangle, broken intersecting straight tracks on a symmetric triangular lawns, planted fake tapestries. In Ostankino tapestries were close – cut "cubes". Combined these three beds, located at the intersection of the main (North – South) and perpendicularly alleys. Flowerbeds, or, as they said in the 18th century, clompy not necessarily consisted of flowers at the end of the eighteenth century flower called and shrub groups. In Ostankino them organized as follows: in the center of planted birch, lime or oak, then high bushes of lilac, Jasmine, and then rose and egged bed of flowers. These groups were placed on a clean lawn -"the meadows." At the present time on the Western flower bed regular part of the garden is planted cedar, East Linden, and placed under the Central bright summer.
Since the end of XVIII – preserved hill "Parnassus" – an artificial hill made for her to admire the Palace and landscapes. The initial height of the slides was about 8 meters. Decorated gazebo the Queen of spades, hill broke the monotony of the flat landscape was visible from all corners of the garden, and, in turn, allowed to observe from the top most part of the garden. The hills have a view of the Palace, trimmed French tapestry Park, extensive lawns landscaped gardens, directly under the "Parnassus" was from the West – the flower stalls, and from the northeast – bearing curtain wall, or clomb", is now restored with approximately the same set of plants, which adorned her at the end of the 18th century. Serpentine path – ramp that leads to the top of the slide, moves in a spiral path around it, which in turn merges into the straight path leading to the Palace. The documents confirm the option plan paths that exists now.
The name "Parnassus" traditionally, for slides of this type, and the slides themselves were fashionable decoration of the landscape and therefore were very popular element of garden design from the late 18th – early 19th centuries, but today almost did not survive. According to Greek mythology, mount Parnassus – the dwelling place of the God Apollo and the 9 muses in ancient and modern European culture is a symbol of poetry, poetic recognition. Its name is an artificial hill was not accidental – the Palace itself was built as a summer version of the Palace of arts and, in essence, was dedicated to the muses and their patron – Apollo. The original gazebo-Queen of spades on the Parnassus lasted long and was demolished because of its dilapidated condition. Now it is restored on the surviving drawings, and Gazebo – temple, representing a circular in plan the building without Windows, but with a light dome.
