The museum of Sergei Alexandrovich Yesenin was opened in Moscow in 1995, the 100-th anniversary of the birth of the poet. The museum exposition is dedicated to the life and work of the most readable Russian poet in the world (according to the official UNESCO recognition), was made on a voluntary basis and presented to the city, in the love which has been repeatedly recognized in his works of S. A. Yesenin. House №. 24 at the Big Strochenovskiy Pereulok in Zamoskvorechye is the only official address of Sergei Yesenin in Moscow, where the poet was living and was registered since 1911 to 1918. The status of the state museum has received in 1996, throwing open its doors to numerous admirers of creativity of the poet.
In 2010, the museum was given the building at the address: Chernyshevsky Pereulok, 4, building 2. In this house repeatedly visited Sergey Yesenin. Since 1912, the poet began active cooperation with the Surikov literary and musical circle, whose meetings were often held in this house. Currently the building includes design work to preserve the historical appearance of this unique mansion and adapt it for purposes of museum. In the new museum building,which is located at Klyazma Street, building 21, korp. 2, in the future will be opened eseninskiy cultural and educational center. All the inhabitants of the distant from the center of the Northern district of Moscow will be in close proximity to spend your leisure time in the atmosphere of Yesenin's poetry. Here it is planned to conduct various activities with children, concerts, recitals, as well as exhibiting unique exhibitions of the museum.
