The state Museum and exhibition center "ROSIZO" was created under the Ministry of culture of the RSFSR in 1959.
The old name is the Directorate of art funds, and since 1977, and before perestroika "ROSIZOPROPAGANDA".
From the first days of existence on ROSIZO was assigned the mission to organize and conduct:
– exhibition from the collections of museums in the country, promoting the artistic heritage of Russia and the latest domestic art;
– state purchases of works of art with their subsequent distribution museums in the country.
In addition, ROSIZO was charged with the possession of the state Museum Fund is not transferred to the museums – known in the circles of the art world as "funds of the Ministry of culture". After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the abolition of a similar all-Union organization of WORKSHOPS for them. Vuchetich, ROSIZO was transferred to a meeting of the Ministry of culture of the USSR
Today ROSIZO – professional executor of the most diverse and complex exhibition program of its founder, the Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation, as well as numerous customers – public, commercial and non – profit organizations. In such contexts, ROSIZO provides a full range of technical support exhibitions: from framing,packaging and transportation, to the legal and insurance support. Over the last ten years ROSIZO participated in the organization of more than 600 exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Operating mechanism technical support exhibition projects supported in ROSIZO creative activity is constantly being developed and, together with partners, implemented new, original artistic ideas and the exhibition concept.
Recently ROSIZO takes an active part in the life of Russian contemporary art, including media art, provides educational and publishing programmes.
Also forces ROSIZO storing the state collection of unique musical instruments.
