The exhibition – memorial division "Presnya" was opened in 1924 by the initiative of members of the revolutionary events in a wooden house, which in 1917 was the first legal Presnensky district Committee of the Bolshevik party and the Military revolutionary Committee Presnya.
Historically, that in the XX century, the square has been the center of political events that determined the fate of Russia: the December uprising of 1905, the February and October revolutions of 1917, the events of the political crisis of August 1991, October 1993
A unique exhibit is the museum's diorama "Heroic Presnya. 1905", which was created by the national artist of Russia – I. E. Dealitem (1921 – 1996). The area of diorama is over 200 square meters narration reads people's artist of the USSR – M. A. Ulyanov. By means of monumental art in the background of the architectural appearance of Moscow depicts the climax of the armed uprising – fights on Presnya in December 1905.
