The house – museum of M. S. Schepkin is located in an old house, it has built in the late XVIII century and it is a unique monument of history and architecture. This building is one of the few survived to our time, survived the fire of Moscow in 1812. Here the last four years of its life it lived the great Russian actor Mikhail Shchepkin. Visitors will see the genuine items: books, paintings, furniture, a cup from which he drank the master of the house; will plunge into the atmosphere of warmth and comfort, and most importantly of all-consuming love for the art of the theatre, reigned in the house. A unique exhibition that recreates the difficult creative way serf boy, became, thanks to his outstanding talent, intelligence and hard work the largest actor – reformer, which determined the development of theatre in XIX – XX centuries.
