VHUTEMAS gallery is a unique place in Moscow architectural Institute associated with the history of the Russian school of avant – garde. Here, in the New housing buildings on Rozhdestvenka in the 1920s, was located legendary Higher art technical studios (VKHUTEMAS – vkhutein), and in the premises of a modern gallery were monumental workshop Skullptura. VHUTEMAS gallery was established in 2006 on the initiative of the Director of the Museum MARCHI L. I. Ivanova – Veen with the purpose of popularization of the heritage of avant – garde. The opening took place within the framework of the international conference "Heritage at Risk. The preservation of architecture of the XX century and the World heritage". The exhibition "From VKhUTEMAS to Moscow architectural Institute" presented the original architectural projects of the students and teachers 1920 – 1936-ies from the Museum collection. For several years VHUTEMAS gallery became famous city exhibition site, here are regularly held exhibitions dedicated to the history and personalities of Russian avant – garde and modern Russian and foreign masters of architecture, design and other types of art. Club VKhUTEMAS in lectures, master – classes and workshops unites students, postgraduates and teachers of the Moscow Institute of architecture and other artistic institutions.
