In the halls of the Foundation IN ARTIBUS first time in Moscow is presented about fifty works of two outstanding European masters of the XVII century, United by the theme of the Eternal city, the General interest in the great heritage of ancient culture and the love of the beautiful landscapes of ancient Latium and the Roman Campagna – Gaspard Dughet and Salvator Rosa.
The exhibition, prepared in collaboration with major Museum and private collections in Russia, includes the paintings, the drawings and the engravings from the collections of the State Hermitage, the Pushkin Museum named after Pushkin, the Russian state library, etc.
In the exposition, including, will be presented "Landscape with angler" Gaspard Dughet, leading its history from the collection of sir Robert Walpole, Prime Minister of the English kings George I and George II. And for the first time come to Russia paintings of Salvator Rosa, among which is a composition on the story of the life of Saint Anthony of Padua preaching to the fish from a medieval collection of folk tales.
The paintings and graphic works of S. Rose and G. Dughet will be complemented by engravings, made at their works in the XVII century and showing the continuing interest of collectors and artists to the masters of the Baroque era.
