The exhibition will be opened for visitors from 23.04.2015 till 24.05.2015 year.
The exhibition is part of the project on socio-cultural integration of deafblind people in a creative environment "Touched". The project has started last fall on the stage of the theatre of Nations with a sketch of the same show with the participation of those who are deprived of sight and hearing and forced to get acquainted with the world at your fingertips. The representation of real-life stories of deaf people is a documentary project area. It is complemented with sections on the show "Touched" and the life of Olga Skorokhodova, which, not having vision and hearing, she defended her thesis and has published the monograph "How do I perceive and represent the world around us", thus is the first in Russia describing the life of a deafblind person.
Format the world of the heroes of the exhibition – is a living space, clearly limited by the contour of your own body. In the process of adapting this space "grows" to the level of an outstretched arm. The curator at the level of emotions, smells, associations and sensations seeking to convey, as in these conditions live project participants. One of them is Irina Povolotsky, describes her experience this way: "Quiet. Very softly. Always. This is always the case. This is deafness. Sometimes in silence – noise. The squeal. Ringing. Frustrating – but it's there. Dark. Sometimes flashes of light, lightning, fireworks. Sometimes – oiled stains of unknown shapes. And it is always. This is day and night. This is blindness. A world without sounds. A world without pictures. It is like this. Forever. Each of us has his own deafness and the blindness. We are deaf blind.
The second part of the project was laboratory-discussion platform, communication platform, and a space for immersion in the issues and sharing in the discussions and workshops best practices for the socialization of deaf people. In this area will be demonstrated materials about people with the simultaneous disturbance of vision and hearing in the world culture and conducted various programmes for deafblind will be organized laboratory (plastic, musical, color, architecture), music master classes, chamber music performances with the participation of theatre plastic hands; for rachelasa will be screenings of films and documentaries and workshops on the adaptation of the museum environment for the visually impaired and deaf; for sighted and visually impaired organized meetings with representatives of the creative class – the social theatre.
The third section of the exhibition is the works by artists addressing the theme of the deafblind. Proteus Temen is presented by installation working with tactile sensations and allowing, thus, to approach the world of a person deprived of sight and hearing. Lilia Li-mi-yan shows the photos and tests the participants of the project "Touched". 2 video installations is exhibited by Maria Yastrebova; Ekaterina Dzharova is recreated in the space of the exhibition the elements of scenography of the play.
