The exhibition will be opened for visitors since 07.10.2015 till 31.01.2016 year.
Valentin Alexandrovich Serov (1865 – 1911) in his art has combined the achievements of Russian realistic school with the classic heritage and innovation of contemporary Western European art and became one of the founders of art Nouveau in Russian art of the turn of the century. The retrospective of the best paintings and graphic works of Valentin Serov will be located on three floors of the Gallery. The exhibition will enable all their diversity, show the master's heritage: not only the famous portraits, but also works in the field of landscape and genre of monumental art,before slipping out of the field of view of researchers. It is assumed first complete presentation of theatrical works of the painter, associated with productions of the Opera "Judith" by the famous composer A. N. Serov (father of the artist), and the Grand curtain for the ballet to the music of N. Rimsky – Korsakov's "Scheherazade" for Russian seasons of Sergei Diaghilev. The exhibition will be consisted of works from 18 Russian and 5 foreign museums and from private collections.
