State Museum of architecture named after Schusev, Italian Institute of culture in Moscow, the publishing house of "Barberry" 15.05.2015 will present the exhibition project of Valeria Sirovsky "Geometry of Tuscany".
The exhibition will be opened for visitors since 15.05.2015 till 17.07.2015 year.
The project is devoted to architectural scenes, city views, cultural landscape of Tuscany, offers the exhibition "Geometry of Tuscany". It was composed of thirty-two photos polyptych – stained crushed into details of stone mosaics and inlays walls of the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and the baptistery of San Giovanni. These buildings of Florence are the city of the geometry of its ornaments, is standing on a small Central Piazza Duomo, the image of which the sum of the Romanesque reliefs, Gothic sculptures and a Grand mathematical combinations composed of green and white marble.
The series of photographs complements the architectural graphics Valeria Sirovsky: fragments of his diaries – books and albums c favorite sketches of landscapes, cities are where the author masterfully affixes "related" artifacts: receipts, labels, tickets, newspaper clippings. Taken from "collections of impressions" architectural graphics is easy for the viewer. Steady hand draughtsman, unexpected color combinations, watercolor halftones, blurry sea or the rain, reproduce Italian landscape with domed basilicas, arches, bridges and silhouettes of cypresses and pines.
An integral part of the project becomes famous essay "the Cursed Tuscans" Curzio Curzio (1898 – 1957), actually gave birth to the idea of the series "Geometry of Tuscany". "…Only in Tuscany – Curzio writes, – the ancient and the modern coexist together in close Union every day and hour, so get that face, gestures, actions, words and feelings of today's Tuscans do not contrast, and seem to merge with the ancient architecture of the houses, with the faces and gestures of the statues of Donatello, Pisano, Jacopo della Quercia. And the Tuscans have that are similar to the Torre di Arnolfo, others in Torre del Mangia, and others – at the Palazzo Strozzi, Palazzo Pitti, the Bargello, and others on portraits by Florentine and Sienese artists…".
Book Curzio Curzio in translation Valeria Sirovsky leaves in publishing house "Barberry" edited, with commentary and introductory article by Arkady Ippolitov.
In this project there will be a presentation of the publication "Cursed Tuscans" with the participation of Irina Corominas, Irina Tarhanova and Valeria Sirovsky.
Valery Sirovsky is a translator, a traveler, a painter and a photographer (was born- 1939) has graduated from the Institute of foreign languages M. Thorez. Translated into Russian language works K. Curzio, T. Guerra, D. Willcocks and S. Beckett. As an artist and photographer has participated in exhibitions in Russia and abroad. Currently collaborates with the publishing house "Barberry", which was published memoir novel – manuscript "Thank you comrade Stalin for our happy childhood!" and two diary books "In Italy with Sirovsky".
Curzio Curzio (1898 – 1957) is writer, poet, journalist, film director, film – essay "Cursed Tuscans" was published after his death. He is the son of a Saxon Erwin Zuckert and milanka Evelina, Perelli, charismatic, but always "separate", he – likes most desperate intellectuals and adventurers of the twentieth century passed through Hobbies fashionable ideologies from fascism to communism, Maoism and anarchism in search of social revolutions, passions and truths. Always being at the epicenter of global catastrophes, Curzio remained the lone thinker and a soldier in his own truth. Two of his famous novel "Kaputt" and "Skin" recently published in Russia.
Arkady Ippolitov (born 1957) is an art critic, essayist, Department of Western European art of the State Hermitage Museum, curator of Italian prints. He is a curator of exhibition projects in Russia and abroad, the author of the books "Yesterday. Today. Never, Especially Lombardy. Images of Italy XXI", "Prison and the authorities. Myth Giovanni Battista Piranesi", "Only Venice. Images of Italy XXI.
Irina Tarkhanov (b. 1958) is curator of the exhibition, the head of the publishing house "Barberry", designer, artist book. She is the author of more than 100 albums, catalogs and magazines on art and architecture, including "Russia. 20-th century in photos", "Art of Byzantium from the Moscow Kremlin Museums", "Alexander Golovin". She is participant and organizer of group and personal exhibitions in Russia and abroad. She is a member of the portrait section of the Moscow artists ' Union, winner of the Gold medal of the Russian Academy of arts.
