

The theatre's birthday is considered the 6-th of February, 1930 – on this day in Moscow was shown the first presentation of K. V. Zh. d., which is dedicated to the events on the border with China. This began the ten years of complex life exit the theater, working in military units and cities from Leningrad to the Far East and released during this time thirty-eight Prime Minister. 23-rd of February, 1934, the five-year anniversary of the Red Army theatre, in the contest for the best project of a building for the theater, was adopted by the project architects Karo Halabyan and Vasily Sachko.
A huge five-pointed star – the building of the theatre of Red Army – is a monument not only of theatrical architecture. It is a monument to the era of severe trials and great enthusiasm. It was built since 1934 till 1940. In the design of the theater was attended by the best artists: murals acoustic ceiling was painted by Lev Bruni, a concrete curtain-the portal was made on sketches of the remarkable graphics of Vladimir Favorsky and his sons Nikita and Ivan. The ceiling above the cupboards in the amphitheatre was created by Alexander Deyneka and Ilya Feinberg. Mural paintings of Pavel Sokolov – Scalia and Alexander Gerasimov decorated Grand marble staircase. Special orders were made furniture, lampshades and chandeliers. The mechanics of the scene, designed by engineer Ivan by Multisim, in our days works practically without repair – revolve two enormous circle, and twelve lifting platforms can transform the stage from the stadium in a mountain landscape, helping theatre artists to carry out all conceivable designs scenographic design performances. 14-th of September, 1940, a new theatre had opened with a performance of "Commander Suvorov" Bechtereva and I. A. Razumovsky – in the Great hall. After two weeks on the Small stage, the audience saw "Philistines" by Maxim Gorky. Since these scenes gave the audience of more than three hundred Prime and about forty-five thousand performances.
Today, along with masters Vladimir Zeldina, Lyudmila you and Alexander Petrov, in our theatre, are artists of different generations, well known in movies and on television. Suffice it to mention the names of Alina Pokrovskaya, Larisa Golubkina, Olga Bogdanova, Valery Abramov, Alexander dick, Leona Kukuljan, Yuri Komissarov. The theater of the Army, always famous for a succession of generations, in our time, can be proud of the bright, talented young people who today creates the theater of the XXI century. Currently, the Director and the actors of the theatre of the Army – the chief Director of CATRA, people's artist of Russia Boris Morozov, people's artist of Russia Director Alexander Burdonsky and the representative of the new generation of filmmakers honoured artist of Russia Andrey Badulin, – continuing the great traditions of the past, creating the future army's main theater of the country.
