Exhibition hall was created under the decree no 430 of 5.12.1989, the Main Department of culture of the Mossovet Executive Committee. After repair facilities for visitors actually was opened on September 1, 1992, the Original name of the institution was “Exhibition hall “Bogorodskoye”, by ownership belonged to the operational management of the city of Moscow. The founder of the exhibition hall was the Committee for culture of Moscow city. From 6 December 2011 hall is called the State institution of culture of Moscow “Exhibition hall “Bogorodskoye”. The founder of the institution is the city of Moscow.
The main direction of work of the exhibition hall is exhibition activity. For the whole period of existence were organized and held a large number of exhibitions of contemporary artists of Moscow and other cities and regions of Russia, near and far abroad. Regular tours of the exhibitions and master-classes of artists. Great attention is paid to cooperation with associations of disabled persons and veterans. Exhibition hall “Bogorodskoye” is the only one of its kind, municipal hall where extensive lecture activities. This is facilitated by the involvement of lecturers from the capital’s leading museums (the Pushkin Museum, the state Tretyakov gallery and others) Lectures have become the hallmark hall.
Traditional measures were concerts, music salons, to which attracted highly qualified musicians and Amateur collectives of the capital. This young musicians – laureates of prestigious international contests, graduates of the leading art schools of Moscow, honored artists of Russia.
One of the main objectives of work of the exhibition hall is the education of the present, not jingoistic patriotism, which is solved at the expense of development of interregional and international cultural links through meetings with representatives of the republics of Russia against the background of exhibitions of painters of these republics with stories about the history, traditions and folk customs (Ukraine, Belarus, Mordovia, Mari-El, Komi).
Exhibition hall is located in part of the first floor of a residential building to the address: open highway, 5, C and occupies an area of 190,3 sq.m Its territory, structural divisions and branches of the exhibition hall no.
