An image or sacred meaning of Ship, Ark, Boats, Sailing, Vessels are inextricably linked with all ages and styles of art. For the Russian Academy of Arts this theme in art is particularly interesting – Russian Navy and the Imperial Academy of Arts was created by Peter Ι. Exposition symbolically opens the picture of Academician Lev Lagorio "View on Academy of Fine Arts from the Neva" (1880, BAT Arts, St. Petersburg) – ship as a metaphor for the endless journey and the search in the continuum of art.
Ship – is the central junction of meaning of human cultures. People are such as its ships. Its aspirations, his subconscious drives, its ideological twists materialize in ships. Ship marks a dream that maybe one day closer to the sleepy seaside town, shaded by red sails. Already no forces to hope, and don't hope is impossible too. The ship represents life itself. It moves to a distant and unlikely to clear targets over the dark abyss of otherness, under timeless stars. And the ship goes. Exactly goes, do you hear. La nave va. (Yakimovich)
