February 9 at 18.30 in the House of I.S. Ostroukhov in Trubnikovsky Lane will be open the exhibition "Moscow of Pasternak in the events and the people", dedicated to the 125 – anniversary of the poet. This is the first complete exhibition of the State Literary Museum, dedicated to Boris Pasternak. The exhibition is based on unique materials from the collections of the museum and the things granted by relatives of the poet, many of which are exhibited for the first time.
For visitors the exhibition will be open from 09.02.2015 – 25.04.2015.
The exposition is built in chronological order – from birth of Pasternak to his death. In the hall, symbolizing the poet's childhood and youth, visitors can see family photos, letters to the gymnasium friend, graphic works of his father, Leonid Pasternak, photos of Moscow streets and buildings associated with the early period of life of Pasternak. The next part is devoted to the beginning of creativity, acquaintance with Mayakovsky, rapprochement with the Futurists and entry into poetic association "Centrifuge". Here are first publications and books of the poet, group photos, posters presentations, cartoons of M. Sinyakova Urechina on-Futurists and other paintings. In the second hall is demonstrated rare photos and newsreels that captures fast-paced life of the country from the end of 20th to late 30th years, as well as evidence of the important points in biography of Pasternak of those years. This time covers his trip to Georgia, acquaintance with T.Tabidze and P. Iashvili and the subsequent work on the "Georgian lyricists." Are also here the materials of the First Congress of Soviet Writers; among them pictures with the poet and the draft manuscript of his speech. Third room contains installation devoted to the Great Terror and his victims, many of whom were close to Pasternak . The theme of the fourth hall is – "recluse" of the poet at his dacha in Peredelkino, his stay in the evacuation in Chistopol, work on the novel "Doctor Zhivago" and the period of political persecution. Here you can see lifetime editions with dedicatory inscriptions, autographs, letters and photos. The most notable series of photographs – a portrait – storyboard of Pasternak made in the evacuation by his friend V. Avdeev. In the final part of the exhibition are shown films about the fate of Pasternak.
In the Year of Boris Pasternak, celebrated by the State Literary Museum, will take place a series of conferences, poetry readings and thematic mini-exhibitions highlighting the individual steps of the poet. The main events will be held on two platforms – in the House of Ostroukhov and in the House – Museum of Pasternak in Peredelkino. February 11 in the House – Museum of Marina Tsvetaeva will be shown setting of "Hamlet" in translation by Boris Pasternak. April 4 will start a two-day international conference "Friendship of poets as the dialogue of cultures", dedicated to a friend of the poet T.Tabidze, who has 120 years old. In addition, is planned an extensive program for children: will be hold contests, interactive sessions and school conferences.
