The handwriting of the artist cannot be confused with anything else – the whole plane consists of light paintings watercolor stains – trees, houses, people like dissolved in the flow of light and air. Landscape "On the Yauza" was written in 1931, it is a city shrouded in mist, the streets are deserted – the artist is trying to abstract from what is happening in the country in the difficult 1930-ies and paints the town outside the time of historical events.
In 1931 was created and works of Antonina Sofronova, presented at the exhibition. Favorite place in Moscow for the artist the surroundings of her home were in a Large Afanasyevsky lane, located between the Arbat and Prechistenka embankment. Two gouaches Antonina Safronova "Mosgas Seafront and the Area near the Stone bridge" to show Moscow lyrical and weightless, as if escaping from the eyes. Another look at the capital, but already in the years of the great Patriotic war are watercolors of Tatyana Mavrina. The artist is well known for the design of more than 200 books in the USSR. During the war Tatiana Mavrina painted Moscow, realizing that everyone in town can in one minute to disappear, and trying to at least in pictures to preserve the atmosphere already dilapidated Moscow streets and churches.
