The exhibition "The happiness of women" about the life of Russian lady, Muscovite, is opened in the Museum of history of Lefortovo on May 27, 2015. Based on objects from the private collection of Tatiana and Sergey Makeevich, she talks about the circle of life of the cities in the last third of XIX – early XX century: about family, life, leisure, Hobbies.
The exhibition will be opened for visitors since 27.05.2015 till on 24.03.2015.
At the turn of XIX – XX centuries Russia was a time of immense change in the lives of citizens: there are new types of transport (tram, electric tram, bus, motor taxi); methods of communication (phone, large spread of pre-existing telegraphic communication); there was a gas and then electric lighting of streets and buildings. Leisure and cultural life changed photography, recording and film. In this era, thanks to the acceleration in technological progress, grow and have hope that this progress will soon radically change life for the better, will make her truly happy. This era we can call Optimistic, not without reason, in Europe this period is called the Belle Époque – the "beautiful era".
All these changes are reflected in the life of a Muscovite, change her status in the family and in society in General. For women become available to many classes and Hobbies that were previously considered reprehensible. Muscovite is becoming a more active member of society, is included in its economic, social, cultural and even sporting life.
The exhibition is formed on the basis of a unique collection of women's clothing, household items, women's accessories, fine materials family Makeevich. They provided among the exhibits you will find a variety of subjects – work-related (sewing and typewriters) and the household (coffee and tea sets, bowls), habits (e.g., Smoking ashtrays, and cigarette holders), fashion (shawls, skirts, dresses) Hobbies (for example, samples for embroidery and decks of cards), and more.
