Seven decades have passed, since then as ended one of the bloodiest wars in human history. Fewer still surviving participants and witnesses. But life goes on: children of wartime older grandchildren and great – grandchildren. They, the descendants of winners, modern boys and girls, have to pass the torch of remembrance of the great war and the Great Victory the next generations, to become a part of the inseparable connection of generations of our state. Young residents of the capital, survived all the hardships of war 1941 – 1945, is dedicated to a historical-documentary exhibition "The children of Moscow's military" is prepared by the General records office of the city of Moscow and the Central state archive of Moscow. The exhibition is presented the documents about how during the war, our city took care of the children, and the children, to the best of its abilities, tried to help the city, the front and the Homeland.
Archival materials tell about the life of boys and girls, on whose fragile shoulders lay the hardships, trials and tribulations of the war years. Among them,there are the documents about the work in the factories of the guys that replaced the fathers who had gone to the front; on the participation of children and adolescents in the construction of fortifications and in groups to protect themselves from the bombing, and their duty in the capital's hospitals and work in school workshops; assistance in the procurement of agricultural products, collection of herbs, mushrooms and berries. The pioneers and Komsomol members helped about the house to the families of soldiers, took care of kids, preparing the gifts to the front the soldiers, collected scrap metal for the construction of a tank column "Moscow pioneer". The exhibition is presented a unique documents about the gathering of pioneers in Moscow in October 1942, numerous photos of the young volunteer teams.
Despite wartime difficulties, the guys eagerly hungry for knowledge. The lessons in schools after a forced break, to the delight of teachers and students, were resumed in January 1942 documentaries 1940-s give an idea about the organization of the school curriculum in the war. The most emotional part of the exhibition is the letters and memoirs of children of Moscow's military. Some of the letters, unfortunately, did not reach the addressees: the parents of many boys died fighting for the freedom of the homeland, protecting its future. The children of Moscow's military as adults patiently and bravely have endured the hardships, trials and tribulations of the war years, contributing to the achievement of the total for all of the Great Victory.
