Contemporary art center VINZAVOD

Winzavod, the first and the biggest contemporary art center in Russia, was founded on the territory of the oldest Moscow’s winemaking factory, earlier known as «Moscow Bavaria» brewery in 2007 nearby the Garden Ring within walking distance of «Kurskaya» metro station.

Winzavod’s mission are support and development of contemporary art, which identified directions of center and same name Fund for the Support of Contemporary Art. Leading Moscow contemporary art galleries, workshops of artists, designers and photographers, cafes, show rooms, studios for kids, a bookstore, and many other facilities are located on the Winzavod territory.

Fund for the Support of Contemporary Art covers two areas: Education and New Names.

In the Education direction there are The Philosophical Club with open lectures program, The Laboratory of Art Criticism in cooperation with the BAZA institute, The Laboratory of Journalism, Winzavod.Open, which unites contemporary art educational institutions in an
exhibition forma.

In the New Names direction there are a supporting platform for young artists START, Open Studios project (artists’ workshops, which are open to the public), The Wall Project (a replaceable layer on the Winzavod wall from street artists) and many other projects related to contemporary art and street art.

Winzavod is a monument of the XIX century industrial architecture, which has preserved the historical buildings’ part in The White Hall, The Red Hall, The Fertility Hall and other spaces.

On the territory of the center there are 21 Gallery, OVCHARENKO Gallery, Vladey Space, GALLERY 11.12, Triangle Gallery, «Fine art» Gallery, Osnova Gallery, XL Gallery, ARTIS Gallery, Totibadze Gallery, pop/off/art gallery.
