State historical – architectural, artistic and landscaping museum – reserve “Tsaritsyno” was founded in 1984 and is located in the palace ensemble failed suburban residence of the Empress Catherine II. Architectural – park complex was built in the last third of XVIII – early XIX century; Architects – Bazhenov, Kazakov, Egotov, landscape architects – Reed, Ungebauer. Ruins of palaces, pavilions rebuilt, well-groomed park needed urgent restoration.
In the 1990s restored the First, Second and Third Cavalier Building, Medium and Small palaces. In 2004 – 2005 years. Museum came under the patronage of Moscow. “Mosproject – 2”, headed by M. Posokhin, started the revival of the entire ensemble. In September 2006, opened the doors Bread House, in a year of the opening of the restored ruins of the Grand Palace.
Museum – Reserve has multidisciplinary collections, which include items of modern decorative – applied art, the artistic heritage of XVI – XX centuries: paintings, graphics, icons, furniture, tapestries, decorative – applied art.
GMZ “Tsaritsyno” today – it’s seven historic buildings, a cascade of ponds, landscaped park 693.4 hectares with greenhouses, pavilions, bridges and caves. Museum-Reserve – one of the largest in Moscow and Russian historical – cultural, museum – exhibition, natural and tourist complexes.

Kazakov, as well as the European Landscape Architects F . Reed and Ungebauer.
Is the only example of the palace ensemble, the architectural style which is unique in the history of Russian architecture and the definition of which varies from “Gothic” to “eclectic.”
